Week 1 - 1/14/08 - 1/18/08
I started my job as Brand Marketing Intern at Under Armour, Inc. on Monday with high expectations mixed with a little bit of nervousness. I woke up at 7:30 a.m. on Monday which already was a new task of waking up that early. My commute to work was about 30 miles up I-95 North into Baltimore. When I arrived at the Tide Point Headquarters, I parked in my assigned parking spot and entered the building that I would be in for the next 4 months and hopefully the start of my professional career. The night before i started work I read an article about the Under Armour Employees and their opinions of working for such a company. Their responses were that of pleasure and joy therefore giving me high expectations of my arrival. I was taken directly to my boss or supervisor Jeremy Brodey where I was then introduced to bout 20-25 people around the office mostly in the Brand Marketing Department. This process entailed me trying to be as polite as possible and speaking directly and clearly to each of my fellow employees. I was then introduced to Ryan Edler, fellow Brand Intern who would be my mentor for the next week until he left for Mobile, Alabama for the Under Armour Senior Bowl. Ryan had already been there a week. The rest of my week consisted of following Ryan around and getting familiar with the office departments, their locations, and how to do simple routine task such as spreadsheets, faxes, and copying. Week 1 was off to a great start in preparation for the week to follow. All other intern will be leaving the office for the week and I will be left with the entire load of work which will sure get me in the swing of things.
